I just bought a 4th gen. ipod. Is there a way to use windows ME, or do I need to find a computer with XP?

Is there a "patch" available that will let me run my 4th generation ipod on Windows Millennium, or an itunes clone that will work, or do I have to find a friend that has XP or upgrade to Xp or 2000??
