How can i train my hamster to be awake when i am?

So basically, ive had my littlee sweetie for a while now, and since shes nocturnal, i hardly ever get to see her! Shes a real cutie but i wish i could play with her more since shes always asleep in the day! I heard that you should never wake a hamster, is this truee?
