How do i work up the nerve to talk to this guy?

long story short - i like this guy who is the silent type, like me, which makes it hard for me to talk to him. i have never met him before but tomorrow i want to go up to him and introduce myself and ask what cles he has. it should be easy because he sits by himself on the bleachers. the only problems are 1) my friend will be with me and she is either going to talk me out of it or be pinching me the whole time we are talking to him, 2) i have no self confidence. help with these problems?
