We had sbc yahoo browser and we i reformatted my computer i cant get it back the way i had it what happened?

i have a blue disc for my browser i got when i got my dsl account from sbc. my computer has 128 MB ram. and when i go to the yahoo download page it wont let me download because i need 256 ram. why did it work before and now i suddenly need more memory
