When did RCA become the worst consumer electronic company in the world?

I have the Trueflat tv that has the damn automatic on/off problem and the dvd player's remote has several ons that don't work anymore! I thought RCA was better than store brands like Emerson, Orion, Visio, etc but apparently it has outsourced it manufacturing to some cheap company!
